Date: May 2019

Just 500 metres from the emblematic Kursaal Elkargunea Centre in Donostia, we find some modern residential buildings in the block formed by Paseo Colón, Bermingham, Segundo Izpizua and Zabaleta streets. Almost 500 metres of CAINOX® STECKDRAIN® pipes have been installed in their façades for the rainwater drainage, with their corresponding accessories that save the different architectural and decorative elements of these buildings. Due to the proximity of the coast and the marine environment to which they are exposed, it has been convenient to manufacture the pipe in austenitic stainless steel, in quality 316L (UNI - EN 10088 X 2 Cr Ni Mo 17-12-2) which, by incorporating molybdenum and the low content of carbon in its composition, increases the resistance, thus avoiding the corrosion that the salt causes in any other metal or in the stainless steel of other qualities.

The STECKDRAIN pipe is joined by EPDM (ethylene-propylene) O-rings that withstand temperatures of between -20 and +120°C and guarantee watertightness in compliance with DIN 19530-2. In addition, this system of joints makes the visual impact much softer as the joints, arranged in pipe sections of equal length, are aesthetically pleasing and the imperfections of welded pipes are avoided.

Steckdrain pipes have numerous quality certificates issued by international certifiers issued by international certifying bodies and complies with the EN-1124 standard.
